1) Stay informed!

• Read your local newspaper and ask for a weekly report on your community's air quality.
• Check out our web site! www.cleanair.tc.ca
• Being well informed is key to effective citizen involvement.

2) Learn not to burn!

• Burning your household and yard waste is not necessary!
• Most of your waste can be composted or recycled. What is left should go to the transfer station.

3) Use clean burning stoves!

• Use only seasoned firewood split to the right size for your stove.
• Select a stove that is certified clean-burning.
• Make sure your stove is the proper size for its location and is installed properly.
• Avoid smouldering fires.
• Reduce your need for fuel; make your house more energy-efficient

4) Become part of your CHOKED COMMUNITY!

• You can contribute your ideas and help improve air quality in your community by joining forces with other concerned citizens.
